About ClimbLab
Engineering Cleaner, Healthier Climbing Gyms
We bring together decades of climbing experience, engineering rigor, and product innovation to solve real problems for climbing facilities. Our founder-led team understands your day‑to‑day operations, and we build solutions that are effective, efficient, and effortless to adopt. Let’s make your gym cleaner, safer, and more sustainable — together.
Our Story
ClimbLab was founded in 2019 by two long-time climbers and engineers. The idea for the company began at a gym one day when Morten noticed that pressure washing climbing holds was both time-consuming and a waste of water. He realized there had to be a more efficient solution.
In our first year, we developed and tested our inaugural product - an ultrasonic cleaner for Euro crates. By 2020, we started exploring electrostatic filters, foreseeing a growing demand for clean air. In 2021, we successfully developed an electrostatic filter specifically tailored to the needs of climbing gyms.
That same year, we recognized the need for a cleaning solution for larger macros and volumes. Our initial prototype, a pressure washing booth with aerosol containment, was rigorously tested and ultimately became our first patented product.
In 2023, we introduced a series of gym brushes, designed in-house, which are widely praised. In 2024, we focused on developing the ultimate vacuum cleaner for climbing gyms—engineered for fine dust collection on carpets, and after a full year of prototyping and testing, we finalized and launched the system in 2025.
Since then, we've turned our attention to testing our latest solution: an enzyme-based shoe spray designed to metabolize odor and deodorize climbing shoes.

Our solutions
-
Clean holds
Our ultrasonic hold‑cleaning system handles entire crates of holds in under two minutes—with cleaning rates of over 3,000 mid‑sized holds per day with just a few touches.
Because holds remain in their crates throughout the process, there's zero individual handling, dramatically reducing scratches, chips, and wear. This precise yet gentle cleaning preserves hold lifespan while reclaiming staff time for route setting and impact-driven work -
Clean Air
Climbing gyms can accumulate fine and ultrafine magnesium dust levels far above EU safety limits. Our electrostatic dust filters actively charge and catch particles between 0.1–10 µm, delivering 60–70% reductions in airborne chalk concentration at standard exchange rates of 3–5 air changes/hour. Compared to traditional spinning fans or HVAC systems, we offer lower energy consumption, quieter operation (≈52 dBA), and reusable, washable cassettes—leading to lower running costs.
-
Clean Mats
Gym mats—vinyl or carpeted surfaces—trap dirt and release chalk dust with every fall or step, degrading indoor air quality. ClimbLab’s mat vacuum system uses a bespoke vibrating head that removes up to 70% more dust than conventional vacuums. For vinyl mats, our ChalkControl surface treatment chemically traps chalk so it clumps and stays grounded, reducing airborne dust by ~50% during peak hours. Paired with regular vacuuming, this approach significantly improves gym air cleanliness and safety

Clean Shoes
ScentZyme is our upcoming anti-odor spray designed specifically for rental climbing shoes. It’s powered by a microbiological formula that uses cultured bacterial strains and natural enzymes to break down the organic compounds that cause bad smells—converting them into water and carbon dioxide. Unlike traditional sprays that mask odors, ScentZyme eliminates them at the source. ScentZyme is a gentle, non-toxic, and eco-friendly solution that keeps shoes fresh without compromising comfort or safety.
-
Cool Air
Our High Volume, Low Speed (HVLS) fans deliver gentle, uniform airflow across areas up to 1300 m². Customers report a perceived temperature drop of 8–10 °C in summer and improved heat dispersion in winter. Energy consumption is around 50 W per fan, achieving up to 30% reductions in HVAC energy usage—paying back in under two years. The fans are made with a Silent permanent‑magnet direct-drive motors (≈38 dB) and come in sizes from 3.15–7.15 m, optimized for various climbing gym layouts
These fans offer a comfortable, clean-air solution without dust blow or high operational costs -
Gym Brushes
Our brushes are engineered for durability and ergonomics—with FSC‑certified beech wood handles, dense boar‑hair bristles, and “glued-in” heads that last 3–4× longer than typical gym brushes. Our gym brush use a Metal-free design to protect holds and has a Push-button angle adjuster for quick positioning on the wall.
These thoughtful details help climbers clean efficiently, safely, and sustainably
Mission
Our mission is to be recognized as the leading, trusted partner in creating cleaner and more sustainable climbing gyms for route setters, staff, and climbers.
